This is always a tear jerker for most campers. For several years now on the final night, the older campers sing Michael W. Smith's song, Friends, for the other campers. The first year, of course, the singing group consisted of the current, older campers; however, over the years, campers come and go. But when Thursday night rolls around and Friends is to be sung, the current year, older campers, as well as campers from previous years, stand together to sing a warm, heart-felt dedication to the people. Another tradition that is way older than the previous one, is the Thursday night serenade. All of the girls line up on one side, and the boys line up on the other. Each group takes a turn to sing a song to the other group. Sometimes the songs are sentimental, but most of the time it ends up where the boys are singing songs to poke fun at the girls and visa versa. This is always a fun event for the campers and adults. |

The girls and the boys are taking their positions. Guys, you're probably thinking about right now that you should have paid closer attention during music class. Am I right? ...thought so. |

Over heard in the girls' group... ... these guys don't stand a chance! ... can't believe I forgot to paint my toe nails! ... why are we out here again? |
