Heard Around Camp

It is amazing what you can hear around camp if you just take the time to slow down and listen. So, that's what I decided to do this year. I'm not talking about snooping around "digging for dirt"...just listening and taking it all in. I hope you enjoy this section. Also, if you have anything to contribute to this section, feel free to send me the things that you heard around camp, too.

"You're a braver person than I am." -- Bro. Arnold Stidham in reference to taking a cold shower.

"The braver person is the one that sits beside you tonight!" -- Bro. Randy Kennedy in reference to the comment above.

"That doesn't look like spaghetti!" -- Bro. Rick Goff caught me returning to camp with Lee's Famous Recipe.

"I think I still have it." -- Rev. David Irwin talking about his basketball game.

"Do you love me too?" -- Broxton Kennedy asking Betsy Lewis a sincere question.

"Yeah. Sure. You bet. Most likely." -- Michael Blaydes reciting answers from his "8-ball" watch.

"I like being nice to everybody." -- Zeth Houk being a matter-of-fact.

"I love this camp. I wanted to come at least one more year." -- Sis. Lil Berry expressing her love for the camp.

"Last person to have a hot shower was Bro. Noah Vance." -- Bro. Randy Kennedy referring to when the gas water heater exploded and burnt Bro. Noah's arm.

"Are you going to fall asleep as easy as you did last night?" -- Clint Gleitz asking a question as he tries to hide the mischief loaded in the question.

"A game like this, you don't have any friends." -- Bro. Arnold Stidham describing the atmosphere of chicken-foot dominoes.

"Smile! It's the last day." -- Sis. Barbara Hale as she walks to breakfast on Friday.

"Mamaw Char-Char, it's FREE today!!!" -- Sami's response to Sis. Charlotte Jordan when Sis. Charlotte told Sami to get her offering money out of her purse.
