Heard Around Camp

It is amazing what you can hear around camp if you just take the time to slow down and listen. So, that's what I decided to do this year. I'm not talking about snooping around "digging for dirt"...just listening and taking it all in. I hope you enjoy this section. Also, if you have anything to contribute to this section, feel free to send me the things that you heard around camp, too.

"That's what campin' is all about...roughing it out." -- Michael Blaydes explaining to the fellows why we don't allow radios and televisions.

"That's my Barbie!" -- Tyler Dixon teasing the little girls.

"I don't even have girls cheering for me." -- Daniel Russell laying some smack down on Nathan Wright while competing in horse shoes.

"I thought you shaved my hair off." -- Nathan Wright as he's waking up from the boys putting shaving cream on his face.

"Church is more important than cows." -- Josh Bryant trying to motivate Brianna "Bree" Sprowles to come back and compete instead of showing her cow at the fair.

"Leave me alone!" and "Long Black Train..." -- Hampton Kennedy's most common lines.

"Peanut butter cups." -- Michael Blaydes's punch line to one his jokes.

"His grandfather pays him $8 an hour to be his grandson." -- Tyler Dixon heckling Chad Riggs about leaving to work on the farm.

"I think I was wastin' my time. Laid down for a beauty sleep, but it didn't seem to work." -- Bro. Arnold Stidham making his remarks after waking up from a nap.
